Does anybody knows where the hell is Darfur? Me neither, at least until last week when my wife went to a play in Kilburn about a war over there. Darfur is placed in Sudan, a very poor country in Africa, and as well as it happened in many other countries over there, since 2003 they are living a huge civil war. The situation in Darfur is described by many as genocide or ethnic cleansing, more than 400.000 people were killed already. There were attempts to send UN troops to the conflict area but either they were rejected by the sudanese government or they were far from enough to make something change.

I am a coffee gourmet, compromising locally in east London, down to a LA Pavoni at home. Not that you misunderstand, as a fan of some Viennese coffee-houses, Italian coffee bars in Venice and Milan, French cafes in Paris, Istanbul and Damascus, I have an idea of diversity, but by no means, how hard they all try, they can't reach the espressi in bella Italia. But on the other hand I am a forced fan of Starbucks and often I need to retreat to one, because on my way home, from work, there is sadly nothing else. For shore the London Sbucks cant match the one's in NY, but in the sadness of public live quality in London, Sbucks are the shining light on the end of the tunnel. We know our life is so convenient by new technology. One of reason is that technology reduces a lot of complcated process until getting a result. Here is a project, called sketch furniture, which consider this idea.

Should the term of copyright protection on sound recordings stay at 50 years or be extended?

This question has been hanging in the air for the last couple of years, with the music industry lobbying government for an extension on the grounds that the royalties they earn from old recordings are essential to bringing new acts to the stage and supporting ageing musicians. They believe that copyright term on sound recordings should be the same length as the copyright in the composition, which currently stands at life plus 70 years.
